How To Make Reusable Bowl Covers
Home Hacks

2010HomeHackspostBadge.jpg Say sayonara to saran wrap! We've never felt good about the amount of saran wrap we use in the kitchen, but even more so now that we have half-eaten yogurts and mini-meals abandoned by our toddler. Our guilt finally motivated us to make some shower-cap style bowl covers.

New Denyse Schmidt Quilt at Land of Nod

020910denyse.jpgThis new quilt design from Denyse Schmidt caught our eye in the latest Land of Nod catalog. With a vintage look, dots, flowers, and solids, this would be a lovely piece to build a room around.

DIY Changing Pad
lil sugar

020910-diychanging-kristen.jpg
DIY's for items that are a part of our everyday lives are always the best, especially when they can be pretty pricey. The thing about changing pads is that not only can they be pricey, but they can get pretty dirty! We would much rather make our own custom changing pad for a low cost!

Framed Chalkboard

It looks like the chalkboard craze isn't going away anytime soon. If you want to include a chalkboard somewhere in the house for the kids but want something more formal looking, consider this.

Attractive ABC Flashcards
Good Questions

2010-02-gqflashcards.jpg
Q: My 15 month old daughter just loves her alphabet blocks. She and my husband have so much fun with the alphabet song and letter identification. We thought it would be fun to have some flashcards around, but I can't seem to find any that I like. Have you guys ever featured alphabet or basic word flashcards that are a little nicer than the blah ones they sell at at teacher supply stores?

Handmade Children's Wall Decals

The easiest way to make a dramatic change in any child's room is by using wall decals. They come in all shapes and sizes &mdash and we're sort of in love. We love them even more when they don't cost an arm and a leg and come in more designs than just race cars.

Learning About Colors

2010-02-05-colors.jpg

It's time to break out the food coloring again. If you're looking for a great indoor activity that the little ones will probably want to do over and over again, try teaching them about color.
