Kidishes Tempered Glass Dishes

2009-10-01-kidishes.jpg

Our growing collection of kid dishes include ceramic, plastic, melamine and stainless steel. Each has it's pros and cons. If you're trying to move away from plastic, want something that can be microwaved but are afraid of breakage, check out the video after the jump.

Kidishes are made from tempered glass. Tempered glass offers you everything - no possibility of leaching, microwavable, dishwasher-safe, clear, less likely to break but if it does, it won't break into sharp shards. Oh, and yes, they're good looking too. Get them at Zoe b.

I remember those glasses from school!
Another microwave and dishwasher-safe option is Corelle dinnerware. It is break and chip resistant. Not completely breakproof but unless you have tile floors, they should last.

I bought a few 10 oz Corelle bowls for my son. They are the perfect size for a Toddler. They don't take up a lot of space in the cupboard and are dishwasher & microwave safe.

I have some Pyrex and Duralex custard cups that work well too.

I hate to be that commenter, but you guys just wrote about this in july. I remember it because I bookmarked it and pulled the link up earlier today to think about ordering them since I am about to start my daughter on solids.

We have a set of those bowls and plates - we inherited them from my mother-in-law about fifteen(?) years ago. And she must have used them for at least another ten to twenty. They have survived five kids (and me - I'm really clumsy with plates). They do scratch after a while, but they still look okay.
