Animal Humidifiers

2007.05.19.nursery.humidifer1.jpgIf you live in a dry climate, you already know the benefits of having a good humidifier. They help relieve symptoms of coughs, colds and flu. During the winter, they help soothe dry eyes, nose, throats and itchy skin. They also assist in keeping the respiratory system moist and running smoothly, which prevents illness. All good things.

Unfortunately, humidifiers also tend to be blocky, ugly, and beige. So we were excited to see Crane's animal humidifiers. To the left, the penguin version.

These humidifiers are more than adorable. They are whisper-quiet, and have a 1 gallon tank, which gives them 11 hours of running time, and up to 2.1 gallons of moist output per day.

For safety, Crane humidifiers turn off automatically when the tank is empty. $32.95, your choice from 8 different animals.

We have the frog--it is so cute. And yes, they have them at Target. They are quiet. We got a cheaper one first, and it was so loud it actually interfered with the baby monitor! With this one we have no complaints.

We have the frog after planning on getting the penguin (I do a lot of Linux work and its their mascot). We heard from others, however, that the penguin leaked.

The frog works wonderfully and my son loves it. It is also very quiet.

Make sure to put filtered water in these, I have an elephant shaped one that clogged with tap water in it.
