These might not be lamps we'd choose for the living room, but these glowing animal lamps are cute and functional for kids' rooms. Babies might not mind but toddlers and pre-schoolers often don't want to sleep in complete darkness and these serve as oversized nightlights as well as friendly guardians to watch over the little ones.

The lambs from a nativity scene make nice night lights for a kid's room. Very cheap at the big box stores after Christmas.

Target has small LED nightlights that are a pig, bird, mushroom, and ?? that are under 20. They're very cute and moveable with a chargeable base.
