What you can't tell from this picture is that this is no ordinary fridge. It's a blank canvas for your kid's artwork and a place to jot your shopping list.

While it does seem like fun, those of us who like to keep a clutter-free fridge would run from this idea. Not to mention an area this large of chalkboard or magnetic paint would cost a lot less and provide pretty much the same thing.
It's available here for $749.
I wouldn't look forward to that dry erase stuff rubbing off on me every time I got near the fridge... also, I don't like the idea of encouraging my kids to write on appliances.

This seems like a bad idea. You'd still have to transfer the grocery list onto paper when you go to the store. Plus, everyone knows that most dry erase surfaces don't get completely clean after a while. If you leave something up too long it stains. And it seems like an unwritten rule that someone will eventually attempt to use a Sharpie on any dry erase surface.

It's not altogether a terrible idea. You could paint artwork on it later? I think this would work great for a garage fridge, too!

i use dry erase markers on my current fridge and it works out great. at a party i wrote "iced tea in here" on the fridge and "margaritas in here" on the freezer. also, i'll occasionally write down a grocery list and transfer it later to paper.

I love the idea.

I agree with ohmaggie, doesn't anyone else just write on their regular refrigerator? If you use a dry-erase marker it wipes off with soap and water on the newer apartment grade fridges at my friend's places.
