Alphabet Animals Frieze by Idlezoo

idlezoo-top.jpgWe love the way alphabet banners lend a nostalgic schoolroom feel to children's bedrooms, so we had to take a second look at this colorful frieze from Idlezoo, featuring some of our favorite critters. (Hi there, echidna!) Not only can kids learn their letters, they can also pick up some interesting facts about the animal kingdom. For example, did you know that hippos are related to whales and can run at 48 kilometers per hour? Now you do!

idlezoo-frieze.jpgThe poster comes in three strips roughly eight inches high by three feet long, with a total length of approximately eight feet. And if you're particularly fond of any particular letter, you can also order them individually in poster size, printed on either fabric or paper.

$15 at Idlezoo

It is amazing what you learn and retain though items like this. I had a friend who had a world map shower curtain growing and to this day, he is really good with world capitals and geography. I was terrible at chemistry so I think I'll make sure my children have a periodic table shower curtain to counteract the bad genes!
