apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

City Art Photography

city-art.jpgWe've used cool online tools to generate words using photos of found objects, but we always wished we could create prints -- say, of our kids' names -- to take away and hang on our walls. Now, thanks to City Art Photography, we can!

city-art-2.jpgPhotographer Mindy Martinsen has accumulated a wealth of letter photography from her travels. Here's how she describes the process she uses to create a unique piece of artwork for each client:

The photographs are all in color and are then thoughtfully put together to create names of people and places or any word/phrase that has meaning to you. The end product is an interesting, unique piece of artwork that is personalized for you. Photographs are 4x6 in size and are individually framed and mounted onto a small strip of black wood to be hung in any room of the house or an office.

Not only do you get a great piece of art, you also get a conversation piece, as Mindy can tell you where each photograph was taken. For example, in the piece at the top of this post, the "H" comes from Woody's Wharf in Newport Beach, California, while the "E" comes from the Wedding of the Bells chapel in Las Vegas. How cool is that?

I absolutely love these! Wonder if you can get them in black-and-white too?
