Planning a more sophisticated space for your child? If you're a fan of Jonathan Adler's animal sculptures, but can't find it in your budget, here's a less expensive, handmade option.

These animal sculptures come out of the Daga Designs studio in Minneapolis where they are completely handmade. A neat tidbit is that the studio's electricity is 100% wind powered.

They make a variety of animals - of the sea (whales, sharks, seals), air (songbirds, quail, owls) and land (rhinos, hippos, bears, zebras). See the gallery here. They vary in size from a few inches tall to an 18" long shark. Prices range from $12 to $120 depending on size.

Thank you for the tip, I actually just went and ordered a small sparrow for my mother for Mother's Day, and bookmarked it for future gifts. Love these!
