Hollis Bulleit Murals

If you're looking for a little inspiration for those drab walls, check out the website of artist, Hollis Bulleit. Hollis was featured in the recent Time Out Kids Baby Edition, and we wanted to check out her site and see what she's been up to. The photo above is from a mural she did for Tates Creek Pediatric Waiting Room. You can read about her design concept, challenges the room presented, and the rest of the mural details on her site. More pics of other rooms after the jump...

This pic is one wall in "The Nursery at Trump Plaza". What's interesting about this room is that Hollis began the project working around an existing mural done by the client's grandmother based on the book "Rumble in the Jungle". We love the look created by these painted frames which alternate between gold and silver. Hollis painted additional scenes from "Rumble in the Jungle" around the room, and she painted a sky on the ceiling to balance it all out.

This room looks like a page straight out of Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are". The room serves as a nursery and a playroom and the actual name of the room is "Where the Wild Things Aren't". Hollis didn't paint any of the creatures on the walls because of the frightening atmosphere that would surely create. What do you think?
