Ink Calendar by Oscar Diaz

inkcalendarTOPPIC.jpgWe have to file this one under "Holy bologna! That’s cool!" The gorgeous Ink Calendar, by Oscar Diaz, is one striking calendar. Created as part of the "Gradual" art exhibition at the London Design Festival 2007, the calendar seeks to, "…enhance the perception of time passing and not only signaling it."

What teenager wouldn’t love to have this beauty in their room? Heck, we’d love to have this in our room. Ink is absorbed slowly and spread onto embossed numbers gradually each day throughout the month, with each month getting its own colored ink. We imagine this would only work in controlled spaces or certain locations, but we can’t help fawning over the beauty and ingenuity of it.

The calendar is currently on view until October 11, 2009 in Madrid.
