apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Letting the Horses Loose by Elizabeth Soule

If you know a child who likes horses, then you know that they actually love horses. Young girls, especially, can become very passionate about them. Elisabeth Soule, whose Little Zoo photographs we've previously admired, has a new collection called Letting the Horses Loose which is certainly more appealing to us than a room full of My Pretty Pony paraphernalia.

The images are taken with a Polaroid and mounted on a thick black frame. Each costs $50 and is signed on the back by Ms. Soule. There are over a dozen majestic horses to choose from, some in pairs.

I still have all my Breyer horses in a box in the attic. As a girl, I loved horses and got one of these every year on my borthday and Christmas, and inherited a few from my mom. In fact, I'm pretty certain I have all three of the ones in the bottom picture.

these are beautiful. I still have Thunderbolt, but Jane West's legs fell off, thunk, thunk, as she sat astride him one night on my bedside table.
