It's a little depressing to realize that record albums from our childhood can indeed be considered "vintage," but, almost as much as books, childhood albums have a warm, safe place in our sentimental hearts. Chris of Pink Picket Fence recently moved her kids' playroom from the basement to a more visible spot on the first floor and wanted to add a decorative element that would add color and be kid-friendly without disrupting the feel of the rest of the house. Tastefully framed vintage albums - bingo!
Unlike some of us (ahem, mom), Chris' parents have held onto many of her childhood treasures and were more than happy to hand off her old records. She bought square frames, covered the mattes with vintagey fabric and used foam core to help hold them securely in place. Because they're held in place with pressure, it's easy to swap out the albums once in a while for variety. See more details of her project here.

I'm not a HUGE fan of the matting that was chosen, only because it doesnt fit MY style, but the idea I think is amazing would work in modern nursery rooms with a simple white mat (so the colour on the albums stands out the most)
