Cool huh? All you need are some watercolor paints and Saran Wrap, and voila, you've got something that looks quite impressive.

Apply the paint liberally in pretty color blocks and then add wrinkled Saran Wrap while it's still wet. After it dries, peel off the Saran Wrap and you'll have a piece of modern art good enough to frame and hang in your child's room. Thanks Artful Parent!
I'll have to try this project with my 2 year old. When we finger paint, we use plastic wrap too. He paints on paper, then I put a sheet of plastic on top. He can squish around the paint underneath and then paint more on top.

I used to teach and one project the kids loved was this. Also try bubble wrap. If you really want to get fancy, drop a few sprinkles of salt or a couple drips of rubbing alcohol in the watery paint (separately). It's fun to see the kids react and it's a good science lesson!
