Me My Room and I

September is Adornment Month here on AT: The Nursery and we're jumping in. If you have a budding designer on your hands, take them over to "Me My Room and I" where they can upload a favorite painting or drawing and create their own custom wallpaper border. We've never been big fans of wallpaper borders, but this we can consider. If you're not interested in the border, they'll also change your child's artwork into an art mat, giant floor stickers, or a full size mural. More photographs and ideas...

We don't think your child has to be Picasso for this to work, and just think how proud they'll be when their own work decorates their room in the form of a full wall mural like this one.

Me My Room and I can also stretch your photographs on canvas. This would be a special grandparent gift. We love the black and white.

Or how about this? Stretch the artwork of your child, niece, or grandchild, onto canvas and hang it in your living room- the bright colors of a child's design will fit in perfectly in the modern home. Thanks to Real Simple for showcasing this creative, Chicago-based company.

You could also purchase a blank, pre-stretched canvas from an art supply store and have the child create the art directly on the canvas. Even if you buy a couple of extra canvases for "trials," it will still wind up being much cheaper than having someone stretch a photograph of the art. It also is a good thing to have kids work with real art materials.
