Homemade Marshmallows 2 by Matthew Carden

We're celebrating mealtime this month on Ohdeedoh, and photography doesn't get a lot more celebratory than this set of prints by photographer Matt Carden. Featuring miniature people in various tableaux with seemingly gargantuan food items, these would make a fun addition to any home for the young or young at heart.

According to this description of Carden's work:

Carden sets out in his art work to make viewers more aware of what they eat and to simply think about food as an integral part of our world. His photographs juxtapose figures with seemingly colossal broccoli, macaroons, chicken wings and the like, and speak of abundance and the ultimate waste produced on a daily basis in our land of plenty. Despite looming issues, the blurry, dreamy quality of Carden's work allows the viewer a whimsical space to enjoy the pure pleasures of food.

No matter how you choose to interpret them, here are a few of our favorites:

Reminds me of ErinTyner's Etsy shop. No food in her photographs, but she uses miniatures. The effect is kind of eerie/ominous, but lovely stuff!
