Violet Pie

violetpie-bearscolors.jpgWhat's that saying about good things and small packages? Ah yes, good things do come in small packages and the adorable felted animals by Violet Pie certainly show the truth in that statement.

While most of her tiny creatures are meant as companions for Blythe dolls, they are adorable enough to stand on their own; each handcrafted with attention to detail. Every little guy has a facial expression so full of character, you'd swear they were almost smiling at you. Group them together on a shelf, or place them in a shadow box for a sweet addition to any space.

When asked about her inspiration, Jennifer Novack of Violet Pie remarks, "....I rediscovered my 'inner child' when I started collecting Blythe dolls, and became a part of that new "doll culture". I love modern Japanese kawaii culture and art, anime and manga. I guess I've always just had a huge taste for cuteness. I feel a need to challenge myself to make something so cute that it's irresistible!"

Jennifer also take special orders, with an incredibly fast turnaround of two days. More images of Jennifer's work may also be seen at her Flickr page.

These are adorable. Another great felter is Lauren Alane. She makes really cute, mod birds and owls. She has an Etsy shop:

I've tried to buy one of her birds, but they literally go in minutes.

I recently blogged Violet Pie's adorable animals -- as well as other fun felt creations -- at Living Small. Glad she's getting her work out there; it's fantastic. Thanks for posting.
