Looky Book

Take a look at Looky Book (click on the pages above)! Parents can preview children's picture books - in their entirety - online before deciding whether to purchase them.

Looky Book was created by Craig Frazier, a picture book author and illustrator, to prolong the marketing exposure books receive. “It occurred to me as I watched these books that the marketing and sales opportunities dwindled over time, through no fault of the publisher,” Frazier said. “There was no apparent place on the Internet where you could have the experience of looking at a picture book as in the bookstore.”

Looky Books is not meant to replace books - it's meant to sell them. In fact, while the page displays are larger than we're able to show you on Odeedoh, in many cases the text of books will be too small to comfortably read. However, Looky Books gives you a chance to preview books more fully than any online store. It's also a great resource for artists, illustrators or anyone who loves looking at beautiful images.

There's also a community component to Looky Books. Register for free and you can begin buidling your own bookshelf of your favorites or books you're considering buying. You can also rate and comment on books and see the ratings of others.

Brilliant concept. I don't like to buy kids' books unless I've read them cover to cover to make sure I like the story and the artwork, which makes online shopping problematic.
