Peekaboo Barn

You know those instances when you want to keep your little one entertained for just a bit, perhaps while you are at the bank, in line at the store, doctor’s waiting room – only a few minutes would be awesome. We think Peekaboo Barn, by Night & Day Studios, is just the ticket. Created by artists and educators, this lovely iPhone/iPod touch application features adorable farm animals in a barn, ready for some interaction with you and your toddler.

With a simple tap on the barn doors, a myriad of farm animals pop out to show themselves, one at a time, in this entertaining application. Children can try to guess what animal is behind the door by hearing its call, and older children can learn the names of the animals in English or Spanish. ¡Que lindo!

With whimsical illustrations by regular New Yorker contributor, Divva Srinivasan, the Peekaboo Barn app, $1.99, is sure to be a favorite past time for your child.

i just downloaded this app ..... my daughter doesnt seem to like it just yet, but im sure it will grow on her....
she does however LOVE the ap, "bloom"

Speaking of peekaboo, DK books has a line of peekaboo books that my four month old daughter absolutely adores. They say, "where is the kitty" for example, then there's a large flap you fold back and peekaboo, there's the kitty! When you're four months old, this is the absolute height of entertainment. ;) Anyway, they're well done and not terribly expensive. DK is apparently coming out with new ones with sound, including one that has my daughter's Jellycat stuffed sheep on the cover. She'll be so excited to see that one!
