i might have to try some of these. we have something like the last cup and there's no way i can get it close to flush to the boys' foreheads to rinse. no way. maybe the shower thingy would work better. hmm...

I have a cup like the last one only mine is from One Step Ahead. It works OK but not great. If I can get him to sit still and not squirm too much and pour the water, I can rinse pretty well without getting it in the eyes. But unfortunately squirming will great all sorts of drips.

oh, please report back to us on this. mine is turning 2, and throws a fit everytime we try to rinse hair. she loves the whole shower process, even enjoys me putting soap in her hair and getting a head massage. but as soon as it's time to rinse the soap out. she flails and wails and it sounds as if the world is about to end.

Our 13-month-old is always giving us fits when it comes time to rinse out her hair. We have something like the last item, but she doesn't lift her head up enough for us to get it to work right.

i spent years trying to convince my 4 year old daughter that leaning her head back to rinse off the shampoo would prevent water in her eyes. About a month ago, she finally relented, and laid back in the tub. When the water hit her head, she sighed and exclaimed, "This feels lovely." I laughed for days about that one.

every kid is different.
my son is fifteen month and he has a laugh every time we pour the water over his head to rinse his hair.
and believe me, it gets into his eyes!
bath time is his best time, and rinsing -believe it or not- is the best part!

We have the lil rinser, and it works pretty well. He has even asked for a second rinse, on occasion!

I bought this for my son about a month ago and haven't looked back. The tantrums stopped abruptly. I like that it's a stand-alone 'crown' that he can wear throughout the bath or shower. We put it on, put him in a shallow bath with the shower running and let him choose when to get his hair wet under the shower and when to rinse. By the time we're done, the bath is about half full (about what a bath would be anyway) and no tears. And CHEAP.

I occasionally take a bath with my daughter (16 mos) ... when I need to rinse her head, she lies back on my chest. It seemed to help her get the idea that if she leans back enough, she won't get water and suds in her face, so when I'm not in the tub with her, things go a little more smoothly. We use California Baby shampoo, which doesn't seem to irritate or sting her eyes even if it does splash.

robinp - that's hilarious. Your daughter will soon be asking for one of those little spa pillows in the bathtub!

my mom just got a bigger jug so that she only had to dump it once and all the soap would be rinsed.

i remember as a little kid, it was my job to hold my hands against my forehead like a visor to keep the soap out of my face. works pretty well, but maybe not for very young ones.
