Here's a before shot of Allison's bathroom - it probably looks familiar. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's plain and lifeless. Apparently, it was once much worse: This is definitely the best version of the room, it once was, well, sort of a hole. I had painted it dark, dark blue with a lime green ceiling. The space is so small that a dark color did not compliment it. I like it now because, first, it's a calm space to be in and second, and more practically, it's much easier to clean.

Inspired by a blogger template, Allison sought a fun, mod look and paired two of her favorite colors, blue and brown. The brown color is also echoed throughout her home. Smartly, Allison had registered for all white bathroom linens when she got married so, besides buying a few brown and blue hand towels and a new bath mat, the white linens fit right into her new look.

Wondering about her method for painting the circles? To make the circles, I tried a variety of things. But what finally worked was to use a plastic bowl as sort of a stamp. I dipped the rim of the bowl in the paint and stamped it directly on the wall. Then I filled it in by hand with a small brush. It was definitely time intensive but much easier than painting the whole thing by hand.
