Oh My Aching Knees!

2007.05.24.aquatopia.jpg

There is some cool nursery stuff in the UK. Case in point: The Aquatopia. We have been looking for something like this for months now, because the sad fact of it is, without some assistance for mum's knees, bathside, the alternative is shaping up to be a hose-off out in the garden once a week. Sleek and modern looking - no frou-frou embellishment here - the neoprene-covered kneeler protects your knees during bathtime. Check it out in action, below.

We love that the kneeler is big enough to be useful, and that it folds up against the tub when not in use. And while this might be a UK only product (we can't find a US store with it - anyone got a source to share?) JoJo Maman Bébé will ship the Aquatopia to the States, if asked. £30.00, call for shipping rates.

Or go to Home Depot and buy a gardening pad that you can set down on the floor. It might not have the pockets, but otherwise it's the same thing for about $4.

Ooh! I'm going to make a slipcover for the $4 gardening pad and add the pockets. A pretty beach towel would be fun...what a great baby shower gift!

Baby Depot of Burlington Coat Factory has it for $29.99:

avimom, if you do slipcover the gardening pad, please let us know so that we can show people, because it is a great idea. And I think my mind has been blown - I had no idea that Burlington Coat Factory had a baby store, and that it carried anything from the UK. I am going to go see if there is one in my general vicinity now, and do a little 'investigative journalism', ie shopping.
