Many people renovating a small bathroom would try to maximize every inch for storing towels and bath products, but Chris, pregnant at the time, and her husband had their daughter's needs in mind when they decided on a floating vanity for their new bathroom.
As you can see from the before photo, floor space is very limited with few options for keeping a step stool. Chris writes: ..the vanity allows room to tuck a step stool underneath (and to hide a bucket of bath toys- maybe a galvanized tub on wheels) when she’s old enough, but we can get rid of those things and have a nice roomy bathroom once she grows out of that stage. To our eye, the floating vanity also gives the illusion of more space and gives the bathroom a clean, modern feel. You can see more of Chris' beautiful bathroom renovation here.
Do you have a tiny bathroom? Where do you keep a step stool? We've seen some parents hang one on a hook on the wall. Readers answering this Good Question about a step stool for a vanity sink suggested a folding stool. Any other ideas?

our training potty serves as our daughter's step stool. and is semi-stored underneath/pushed right up to our pedestal sink. works quite well for us. the bigger question is where do you store the roll of toilet paper (that's in use) where little hands can't pull every shredd off and stuff it in their mouths?!?!

I'm glad someone mentioned the bottom of the vanity corners - it hangs close enough to the floor that we're hoping it won't be an issue, but I may go pick up some corner pads to get us through the first couple of years (just in case)!

To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about sharp corners. You're not likely to leave the bathroom door open and baby/toddler won't be in there alone anyway.
