With the warmer weather coming, we're really looking forward to not spending as much time on bundling up baby. The Peekaru has a design that lets you and baby pull on one fleece, and frankly, we just think that little face poking out is so cute.

The Peekaru zips up around your carrier and your baby, and it's made from 85% recycled high quality Polartec fleece. If you want to give the Peekaru a try- it's available here for $79.95.

While I like the idea, I'll stick to a blanket (you know, the old tuck behind the bjorn method). Are either of those easy to get off?

I have one and love it! At first I thought it was stupid and just another worthless piece of baby gear, but I use it all the time. Anyone who walks a lot while using a baby carrier would get a lot of use out of this.
Oh and I always pull it completely over my baby's head.

I saw someone at the grocery store put a baby's head through a fleece vest's armhole. It seemed like genius!
This item provides a bit more coverage than the vest method, but also costs a ton more.

I kind of think it looks like an SNL joke.

Hmm.. Reminds me of Total Recall a little bit..

It does look like a creepy tumor baby, like in Hellboy. And I can't imagine my daughter calmly keeping her head stuck through the hole, she would wiggle until she was lost somewhere inside.

The photo on the right immediately brings to mind that scene in Alien.

So funny.
It reminds me of the scene from Shrek when Boots rips through the inside of Shrek's shirt.

I would maybe try it if Old Navy had one that was $25 or something but not for $70. I'm cheap.
I also read a tip somewhere that you can use a maternity cardigan and button it over (or zip) the carrier to create some extra warmth. Not sure if that works though.

it's like the "Snuggie" for a baby.

the photo on the left looks OK and useful. but wheww, I don't like the baby emerging from the chest on the right.

I used the jolly jumper cover when he was little and we used the bjorn. It was cheap at Sears or Toysrus or something. I think $29.99. It is waterproof (a necessity in rainy Vancouver). It doubles as a boot/raincover over the stroller, too. I found it really convenient for the Bjorn. But now I use the Ergo only, and I haven't seen a similar cover that would work for it. But I guess he is older and his own hat and jacket will be enough-but I hate having him too bunched up in there!

Oh my god! It's a baby Snuggie!!

I agree, it's a bit weird and creepy.
I do think that one could just cut a hole in a garment that's warm and stretchy, though. Or maybe re-use a maternity garment. Seems kind of expensive.

I have one and love it! I got mine at Cotton Babies. My daughter loves being held forward-facing, and this means we can both be warm!

I have one of these and I love it! Of course I bought mine used for much cheaper off the for sale or trade board of www.thebabywearer.com (a great site for those of you that love to wear your baby). Whenever I see their adds with the picture of the baby's face just peeking through, I always think that they aren't doing their company any favors. I think their advertising person needs to reassess that idea. It really is a great product though!
