Walmart's Modern Crib Bedding

Not to be outdone by the democratization of design going on over at rival Target, Walmart has introduced new modern crib bedding to go with their Baby Mod line of furniture.

All of Walmart's modern crib sets include 4-pieces - a bed skirt, comforter, fitted sheet and bumper for around $80.

We've not seen it in person so we can't vouch for quality or how good it looks up close, but we're impressed with the photos.

For about $10 more per set, Target has Amy Coe's modern line of bedding but we haven't seen any new patterns introduced lately.

The new Amy Coe stuff is being slowly introduced in the stores, but nowhere on the website yet. All of the cute elephant stuff is pretty much gone *sniff* but I think the new collections stay in the same color families.

I purchased the Mod Dots and Stripes set recently. While at 180 thread count, it's not ultra soft, it seems like a good value for the price. The color is very close to what is pictured on their website. I used the free "Site to Store" shipping option, so it was delivered to the closest store rather than my home at no additional charge. It saved quite a bit of money on shipping, as their fees can be a somewhat high.

I also ordered the Orchard Park, George Baby Uptown and MiGi Splash (slightly more expensive at 6 pieces and 200 thread count) sets from the site. While I decided against them for the the color theme in our nursery, they all seemed like very good values. I was pleasantly surprised.

It's nice to see that Walmart is offering modern options that don't completely break the nursery budget.

I also bought the Mod Dots and Stripes that birdie mentioned (called Multi-Dot on their site.) For about $80, it's great, but you aren't getting amazing quality for that price. Considering for us this is our second and last baby and I know how short of a time he'll be in that crib, it's fine for us. The colors and style are perfect for our nursery decor and we may opt to just use a higher quality plain white sheet in lieu of the decorated one.

So the 2nd design is actually made by Design Space ltd., which is Dwell Baby. I was looking at that design on Ebay a few weeks ago. The seller didn't mention that it came from Walmart (she actually sold it for around $238!). Wow. Anyhow, here's the Ebay link, which has a link to the Design Space website.

actually... here's a link (that works) to Design Space Ltd. If you click on "brands", you can see who is selling what. Funny how they're all made by the same company.

Oops. Click on Clients, not Brands.
