Toddler Bed by DaVinci

DaVinci-Toddler-Bed-1.jpgNo, it's not terribly high-concept or cutting edge, and it probably won't win any international design awards. What it is, however, is a simple, solidly built toddler bed made of sustainably harvested wood and sold at a price that won't kill you. And when you think about it, that's pretty darn good.

Available in five different finishes, from natural (pictured at the top of this post) to ebony (pictured below), the DaVinci toddler bed is made of Radiata Pine (also known as New Zealand Pine) that has been harvested using eco-friendly principles.

DaVinci has had two recalls that im aware of. I dont think either incude their toddler beds, but just thought Id throw that out there. I happen to have a black crib of which seems like every finish but the black has been recalled. It sort of makes me not even want to use the crib since the rest of the lot has been found faulty in some way. :/

Craigslist always has a ton of toddler beds because they are usually used for only a short period of time (2-3 years at most). You can use your crib mattress with a toddler bed, so it is worth it to search for a low-cost toddler bedframe on craigslist.

How about the ultimate eco-friendly choice; not creating a market for the toddler bed! Talk about your superfluous piece of furniture. Either buy a crib that converts, put the crib mattress on the floor for a little while, or move up to a real bed.
