apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Some color inspiration on this last day of August... Domino has a great selection of paint palettes in their galleries. We saw this one in the magazine this past year and loved the color combo so much we bought paper in both shades and have been using them together in all kinds of projects. It's feminine and bold at the same time.

This one is perfect for a boy's room, but could also work in a girl's room. The feeling it creates is hip and relaxed, like a favorite pair of cargo pants.

Our favorite color palette for our own dream master bedroom- this understated dusky blue and moonlight gray.

I have been enjoying Apartment Therapy for while now, but I had to chime in on this - the Benjamin Moore pink room? Those colours were the inspiration for my daughter's room. The exact shades didn't work, I chose slightly different tones - but I loved the idea. Here is where I posted about Josephine's room: http://thedomesticvernacular.blogspot.com/

Thanks for all the great ideas, and the bright spots in gloomy days.

Maria Good - awesome room! Thanks for sharing; it is much, much more interesting than the room featured in Domino. Wish I were able to do such a good job of my daughter's room -- it is truly lovely and inspiring.

Thanks so much monika1 - I had all of the vintage things, but it was looking at those colours that tied them together, and made the room such a happy place to be. It wouldn't be the same at all if it were white or cream or beige. It's a very powerful combination, and the calculator on Benjamin Moore's site that shows the best proportions for the colour combinations really helped too.

Marla Good - I have been obsessed with that Domino room since I saw it (and have been decorating my daughter's room in its homage ever since), so it was fun for me to see someone who ran with it as well. I love the B. Moore calculator too! Thanks for the peek.
