How many generations of family live in your home? In this week's NYT online, a story of a multi-generational family living (and cooking) as one household. We aren't all lucky enough to have our parents come and cook for our children while we work, but reading about this family and the way that they connect through the simple act of cooking for one another is inspiring. And, no lie, we are pretty jealous of daughter Taylor, age 11, and her KitchenAid mixer!

My mom, bless her heart, can not cook to save her life -- so we rather she doesn't cook when she's at our house. It was my dad who did all the cooking when I was growing up, but he passed away so we don't have the good grandpa cooking.
I am the main "chef" at home, unless it's grilling. Grilling is the husband's domain and then I do all the side dishes.

I have 4 generations living at home, myself, my mom and grandma, and my two boys. I work from home so I am able to keep an eye on my Grandma while my mother is off at work. And they can afford a better lifestyle by living with me. And my mother can't cook either. I think moms stopped cooking in the sixties.
