What's up with this odd, new trend of turning board games into movies? I mean, we really loved playing Candyland when we were kids, and totally plan on having a Candyland themed birthday party for our daughter one day- but a movie?

But yes- you heard right- Candyland is soon to be a film. As is Battleship and Monopoloy. "Commentator John Ridley says Hollywood is getting more and more of its movie ideas from child's play," according to this article on NPR.

Though it can be interesting to mix media and different forms of entertainment, how about some new ideas Hollywood? Guess we'll have to wait until we see them...
