Our friends at Cookie's Nesting Blog just posted a look inside the Berlin flat of a small family who relocated from New York a year ago. Their apartment is light-filled, but not clutter-filled making the few things they've chosen to have more special and appreciated.

The white walls and wood floors provide a clean backdrop for small bursts of color throughout the apartment, including these orange shelves from DWR.

An Ikea dining table means mother, Michelle, doesn't worry about messes. You'll recognize the Stokke chairs, but perhaps not the museum stools purchased from a company specializing in furniture for museums and schools.

Check out the full post at Nesting Blog for more photos and an interview with Michelle about her design aesthetic and the importance to her of living with less "stuff".
