apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Forrest Petterson was in need of a makeover for her room which, while spacious and with tons of great natural light, was a bit underwhelming. In steps designer Lela Rose to give Forrest's room the pizazz she would love for it to have...

Black and white with yellow accents are the main features of this sophisticated room. With the walls remaining a bright white, the strong graphic elements of the black rug and the bedspread appear all the more bold. Lela chose items that not only go well together, but are also classic pieces which Forest can take with her when she moves out on her own.

Pieces such as the Riki clock from the MoMA store; West Elm's Step Side table; and Stray Dog Design's Funky Faux Bois Mirror round out the luxe look of the room.
