Easy Embroidery

For kids who are exploring some more detailed crafting, an introduction to embroidery can start out simple and build to more complicated levels. The napkins featured here reminded me of a project done with my stepdaughter, only her item of choice was a tea towel. Using iron-on patterns from Sublime Stitching, she worked on tea towels featuring birds and tiki designs while I stitched "his and hers" pillowcases. And, if your child isn't quite ready for this sort of thing...surely they're ready for you to make them something (a bib? a onesie? a pillowcase? a decorative banner?)

LOVE Sublime Stitching. I took an embroidery class in Austin and then used a bunch of her designs to embroider onesies while I was pregnant. They get a ton of compliments.
