SAMi's work is graphically bold and very mysterious! He collects Japanese toys, and his artwork reflects their influence.
Each of the books starts with a basic face (or shape). Turning the page adds a layer of detail to the underlying face, transforming it from one thing to another. A puppy becomes a kitten. A chicken becomes a monkey. And so on and so on.
The colorful illustrations are simple and stylized so even young infants can enjoy them.
