Gift for a Budding Young Writer

080409writerstote.jpgWe showcased a few writing nooks to inspire you yesterday. But what's a writing nook without great supplies to stock it with? This also makes a birthday gift for a young writer.

This one's a tote with a few special treasures- alphabet stamps, flower stickers, pencils. But half of the fun of creating one of these would be finding and selecting your own favorite items for writing and learning.

Ohdeedoh readers- what would you put in your writer's tote?

Thanks to Mariah over at Playful Learning for sharing this great idea.

Depending on the kids' age, a picture dictionary, a small calendar, envelopes, simple homemade books (stapled, sewn or held together w/yarn) for them to fill out and maybe attach some photos or their own artwork for them to make their own picture book.
