Rare and Classic Books Online

012210applepie.jpgAnother fun and free activity for these winter days: The Library of Congress has this really cool section where you can virtually flip through the pages of a rare, classic book like "A Apple Pie" or "Baseball ABC."

Take a look at all 23 books here. Flipping through the pages with your cursor is almost like spending some time in the stacks of the vast library.

Other resources on the site include contests, author webcasts, and booklists.

Boy, those certainly look like they may have been some of the illustrations that inspired Henry Darger.

Another "thanks for sharing." I'll definitely be looking soon. I wonder if you can print from there. I love old children's book illustrations as decor.
