We were surprised, and encouraged, to read in her introduction that for a long time Amanda didn't consider herself a creative person which she linked to possessing a level of inherent artistic talent. Over time and through her children, she began to nurture and explore her own creativity and develop a wider definition of what it means to be creative as well as a broader self-perception of her own creative spirit. (We can really relate to this.) She writes beautifully about the importance of nurturing your children's creative lives and provides ideas and projects for things to make and do as a family that will feed your family's creative soul.
