Forget about the People's Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, the Cybils are where it's at. The Cybils, aka the Children's & YA Bloggers' Literary Awards, recognize the best children's and young adult books which "combine the highest literary merit and “kid appeal.""
The Cybils are voted on by bloggers (many of whom are librarians) who write about children and teen books. The finalists were announced this week and the winners will be unveiled on February 14. They've provided a short, catchy description for each book as well as links to buy them online. Better yet, they've created a pdf file of finalists to print out so you're armed with great choices the next time your family hits the library or bookstore.
