The Daring Book for Girls by Andrea J. Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz

2007_10_22_daring book for girls.jpgIt's about time. When we reviewed Harper Collin's The Dangerous Book for Boys last spring, we loved the concept, but were slightly miffed about the gender specificity. But authors Buchanan and Peskowitz say if boys are dangerous, girls are daring. They promise this is not a book about training young ladies in the domestic arts, but rather a book for "any girl with an eye for adventure and a nose for trouble." Topics covered include 5 Karate Moves Every Girl Should Know, Skipping Stones, Canoeing, Building a Campfire,

Running a Lemonade Stand, Female Heroes in History and lots more.

The Daring Book for Girls is released on October 30th and sells for $25 (Amazon is currently offering the boy's and girl's version together for $31.) The Spanish language version, El libro Aventurado para las Chicas, will be available in December.

What about a book on the domestic arts for both genders? Sheesh.
