Have you taken them for that very important first cut yet? We found some great tips to help make it a more pleasant experience when you do.
• Always make an appointment. Otherwise, the child may have to wait.
• Try to get the first appointment of the day so the child can get in and out.
• Stay away from the word “haircut.” That can be scary for children, who associate cuts with pain. Instead, use the word trim.
• Bring snacks. A hungry child is unlikely to cooperate.
• Take the child at a time when they’re most relaxed. For some it might be after a nap. For others, it might be right before a nap.

could you do a feature on how to get your toddler to get used to haircuts? his first few went ok since he didn't know what was going on, but now at age 3, he starts screaming as soon as he hears the clipper buzzing. no amount of snacks, candy, or other forms of bribery can appease the guy.

my mum used to cut my little brother's hair. She'd put him in the bath, line up a row of chocolate chips along the edge and for each snip of the scissors he'd get a chocolate chip. He soon learnt to love haircuts!

The mullet thing: just trim the back and let the sides and front grow out; soon, they'll be sort of the same length, and you can use hair pretties or wear a bob.
No other tips other than go in the morning when the tots are in a good mood, and hit a kids' place that has cool chairs, videos, and lots of toys for distraction.
I am not going to use candy or whatever to bribe my toddler to sit for haircuts; I'm not going down that road because he'll ask for candy outside the context of haircuts. We are a no junk food home.
