A basic note from a second-grader:
Dear Grandpa,
The new fishing rod is just what I wanted. I can't wait to go fishing with you next summer.

Are your kids writing thank-you notes this season? Do you have anything special you add to yours?
I believe it is fantastic to teach young children to write thank you notes. It is never too young to learn good manners. I will keep this book in mind for future gifts and wrap it with a box of with thank you cards.
