Writing Thank-You Notes

After all the presents are unwrapped, it's time for thank-you notes! We found this Guide to Writing Thank-You Notes over on Ivillage.com.

You'll find helpful hints based on the book, "The Gift of Good Manners: A Parent's Guide to Raising Respectful, Kind, Considerate Children." You'll also find these sample thank-you notes:

A basic note from a first-grader:
Dear Grandpa,
Thank you for the new fishing rod.
Love,
Joey

A basic note from a second-grader:
Dear Grandpa,
The new fishing rod is just what I wanted. I can't wait to go fishing with you next summer.
Thank you very much.
Love,
Joey

I believe it is fantastic to teach young children to write thank you notes. It is never too young to learn good manners. I will keep this book in mind for future gifts and wrap it with a box of with thank you cards.
