Quick Change Crib

2007-06-05-quickchange.jpg
It wasn't an issue before. When baby was younger and the crib mattress was at the highest setting, changing sheets was easy. But as he's grown and the mattress has been lowered, it's becoming more and more of a chore.

The Quick Change Crib features a panel door on one end of the crib.

Open the door, slide out the mattress to change the sheets if baby has an accident. You can slide out the mattress without disrupting bumpers or cribskirts.

The Quick Change comes in a bunch of finishes and is available here for $495. (via Daily Stroll). Use "DailyStroll" at checkout for 10% off until June 21.

or you can just use these fitted sheets that make bedding changes easy, and for a lot cheaper...

This is great! Hope a lot of crib designers start adopting this idea! I use a sheet protector on my sons' crib, so wrestling the mattress is something I rarely do, but it's still a problem.

My 5yo daughter would have a blast playing with the crib door, which maybe is a bad idea...

I second Quick Zip sheets--they are fantastic. Don't know why they aren't more widely available.

I actually went down the Quick Zip Sheet road and have to say that they are not as easy as they proclaim! You still have to put them on like a regular sheet (all the hassle) and then do it again after just 2 times. I would prefer this Quick Crib over the Quick sheets any day. For my next baby - due in December - I'm buying this crib.
PS: Was worried about my older one opening the door but spoke to the owner (she's very nice) and she said that the door has 2 latches that have to be simultaneously disengaged -- so childproof. Passed certification too.

This is a great product!

I really don't like the Zip Sheets. First of all, even though you can zip them off, you still have to bend over the siderails to undo them. And I really don't want to be limited to the styles that the zipsheets are offered in -- I want the freedom to choose any sheet styles I like.

And, like Gertral says, you still have to put the zipsheet on and off, like a regular sheet, every so often.

Once the bumper comes off, changing the sheets is really easy. I've been told that in Europe they don't even use bumpers.

Hi DOLLHOUSE -- Yeah, I agree, it's a lot easier once the bumper comes off. But getting that bumper off is a killer!! It takes forever to remove all those ties -- and then you have to put them back on again! Aagh! Maybe the Europeans are onto something -- forget the bumpers altogether! :)

Even once the bumper is off, though, you still have to reach over the sides of the crib. Not a lot of fun -- and I'm short (and maybe a little more squat than I should be! :) ), so it makes it even harder!

I agree that the bumper is annoying because you have to reach over and tie and untie. But even without the bumper, yanking the mattress out (especially because it fits so tightly) is such a chore. Maybe it's because our crib does not have a drop rail and the mattress is now at the lowest setting.

Has anyone gotten this crib? It would be great to get a review!

I'm thinking maybe I'll get one -- if I do, I'll be sure to report back....

Hi Everyone! I got this crib! And it is SUPER!!!

My mom, who had a regular crib back when she had me, can't get over how great this thing is!

Just for kicks, I tried to change the crib without opening the door (like a regular crib), and WOW what a difference the door makes!

I had some questions about buying it on-line, and I called the number on the website -- and I talked to the inventor! She's super nice, and wasn't pushy about selling it at all!

I recommend this crib!!!

Has anyone purchased this in the black? I am worried about the scratching and or chipping of the paint. Any information would be good. Thanks.

Don't think Zip Sheets and Quick Zip Sheets are made the same or are of the same quality! Quick Zip sheets are a cheap knock off of the original Zip Sheets! Zip Sheets cover the entire mattess and zip closed, but they also have an attachable waterproof pad that is so easy to change, my husband does it one handed. There is no struggling with the rails. The quick zip sheets, with only the zipper top don't keep the mattress clean when the baby has an accident. You have to wipe down the mattress, then struggle to zip on the top part of the mattress cover while balancing on your tummy over the crib rails. Lame! Try Original Zip Sheets- the best sheets ever!
