Rocking Cradle

2009-04-23-cradle.jpg

When we think of heirlooms, we always think of ourselves as recipients. But what about buying quality pieces now in order to hand them down to future generations? Someone has to start. If you're in the market, check out this handmade rocking cradle by Etsy seller Scott Bergman.

The rocking cradle is made of cherry with a polywhey finish on the inside and an oil varnish finish on the outside. The joint can be knocked out in order to store the cradle away when not in use. For handmade heirloom quality, you'll pay a steeper price ($850) but if you're truly looking for something to pass down to future generations, it's well worth the price. You can see more of Scott Bergman's shop here.
