A Parisian boutique with an American name, Serendipity is our favorite kids design store in Paris. Founders Elisa de Bartillat and Laurence Simoncini are mothers who have reconciled vintage furniture with contemporary design, offering up one-of-a-kind and limited edition kids furniture with tons of charm. Serendipity offers both restored vintage pieces and original designs, and we love just about everything at their inspiring space in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, starting with these restored vintage iron kids beds.

Is there anything the French can't do? These pictures are beautiful. Love the colors. Love the elephant. Love the crib (although my 2 year old would probably want to push it around like a grocery cart).

Love the iron beds! The crib, although attractive, disturbs me: if you're not supposed to have bumpers to prevent babies rebreathing their own air, wouldn't something like that with four solid sides be even more dangerous?

Some of those beds look like they're made out of plumbing.

I usually love all things French but have to be the lone dissenter here. I find these photos rather depressing because the colors are a bit too sober for me. I love color and having children gives me an excuse to use it; I just try to be creative in not using the same tired combos.

Thanks, Kristin! I'd never heard of this store, but I rarely make it over to the left bank. I also like "c'est ma chambre" on rue des archives.

Too goth for me. It looks like the room of some kid locked in an attic.
