Custom Name Signs by Fudge Design

Just when you thought Flight of the Conchords was the best thing to come out of New Zealand. Fudge Design makes custom name signs in one of the happiest and most appealing typefaces we've seen and seemingly found the cutest baby on earth to model them.

The very first Fudge Design name sign was handmade by owner Angie Millar's husband Ryan after the birth of their first daughter. It was so admired by friends and family that Angie decided to make it a bonafide business. The signs are made of MDF with ten colors to choose from. Have a word in mind besides a name? No problem - get creative! And good news for renters with persnickety landlords- they're designed to be held up by 3M Command Strips instead of nails.

Although they're New Zealand based we contacted Angie to ask if Fudge Design shipped internationally. She says, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Postage and packaging costs are calculated at the checkout for the US, UK, Australia and Canada and buyers in all other countries should contact her for a quote.

I love these! I've been looking for a way to put up our son's name in his nursery and this just might be it!

I love the idea of a name sign in the nursery but I hate that almost every one out there is around $20/letter. With a 6-letter name . . . that would cost me more than $100 before shipping.

LMNOP are running this cute competition right now! If you guess this baby's real name you can win one of these! Here's the link: http://www.lmnop.com.au/2009/09/can-you-name-this-baby/

this is cute, but I was really hoping that a full name would be cheaper than buying the letters individually. unfortunately, it still ends up being $18 a letter (not including shipping)!

I think I am going to stick to the letters I cut out myself from amy butler scrapbook paper--nice and inexpensive for my 7-lettered baby girl!

These are so lovely - and seem so much more personal that the single letters although I must admit the single letters are easier to make yourself if you're feeling a bit crafty!!

If we are sharing links then you must visit http://www.notonthehighstreet.com , it's a UK site but most sellers will ship internationally. It sells a lovely selection of handmade and unusual items. I am biased as I sell on there too (shameless self promotion if you are interested!! - http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/partners/thebeautyisinthedetail/products )

There are a wide selection of large letters and personalised items on their from many different sellers - so you should be able to find the perfect addition to your little persons room!

People, the prices are in $NZ. If you convert, it's much less. Today, 10/6/09, $18 NZ is equal to $13 US. Plus the 20% off from facebook and you've got yourself a deal. I just ordered and I can't wait to get my daughter's name!

Hi Everyone,

I hear what you are saying about wooden name plaques being at least $20.00 per letter, I searched high and low and found an amazing Australian brand that I now retail on my store site.

These are very popular, the classic font grows with the child as they move from the nursery to a big persons room.

Check these out, $15 per letter and I'll ship anywhere in
the world for the actual shipping cost (no handling fees)

I have also contacted Fudge as their font is just lovely, hopefully I can offer both these brands soon.

Hi,

I know this is totally shameless however, wanted to share my website, www.artazon.co.nz.

I was the first in NZ to deisng and produce customised painted letters, in 2004.

The customser chooses the font, size, colour (great for matching colour schemes, I do a lot of work with interior designers)... and the BEST bit is that the letters are $13.50NZD - a tiny $9.90USD each!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies, fabulous site!
