Do we have chalkboards on the brain? Yes, guilty. We love the matte black finish of a nice black chalkboard. And writing with chalk takes us right back to our childhood doing long division in class (and playing hangman). At home, we bought an awesome train/activity table and used chalkboard paint to cover the surface and fronts of the drawers underneath. It wasn't a difficult DIY project, but it took a while to prep everything and the chalkboard paints smells funky. If you're looking for an easier, temporary and portable way to let your kids enjoy chalk, consider using chalkboard cloth.
