We love mobiles, and they're one of those projects for the nursery that are also fairly easy to make yourself. Flickr even has a Mobile Swap group with so much inspiration we are ready to start our own project! More favorites below...

Who would've thought laminated thread would look so cool? Great idea.
With it's color choices and delicate design, this one will definitely mesmerize the little ones.
Thanks to our reader JoAnne (who's been known to make a few mobiles herself for her son's room though she says she hasn't gotten around to hanging them up yet!) for pointing out this fun group.

Coool! For some reason this reminds me of a cool instructable about how to make these little Japanese flowers, I think with tiny bits of fabric. Different sized ones of those would make a great mobile too, if one couldn't make windmills.
