DIY Pleated Lampshades

DIYpleatedlampshades.jpgHow cute are these lampshades? We came across these delightful pleated shades over at Katy Elliot where she talks about how easy they were to assemble.

By using some Japanese paper and ribbon strips, Katy was able to create lovely room accents that seem much more expensive than what they are. We like the idea of using different sizes of paper for a clustered grouping, or larger paper for one big bold shade.

For paper sources, she refers us to the appropriately named Paper Source. We love the selection our local Paper Source store has and can only imagine the beauties we could create.

Hello ;-)
Yes, the lampshades in the picture are really pretty, BUT they are not homemade, they are made by a danish designer called Rie Elise Larsen. You can find them by going to her website www.rieeliselarsen.dk and clicking on "indoor".

Thanks Kvista for clarifying.

I did not make the paper shades that are shown above. They are made by danish designer Rie Elise Larsen. I included them on my blog as inspiration.

On my blog I include a link to a diy paper shade project as well as paper sources.

Thanks, katy
