Eames House Bird by Vitra

eameshousebirdTOP.jpgIf we had $200 worth of fun money, this cutie would definitely be in the running of winning a new place in our home. The Eames House Bird by Charles & Ray Eames, for Vitra, was inspired by American Folk Art and the original presided in the Eames living room for over fifty years.

The iconic Eames House Bird, $195, is made from solid alder, black lacquer finish and steel wire.
Standing 10.8 x 3.5 x 11 inches tall, the Eames House Bird can be appreciated by just about every member of the family.

There is a book called The Paper Home by Labeena Ishaque that has a project in it for a super similar clock, which is also pictured on the front cover. I found so many awesome craft projects to make from things around the house in this book. It's amazing!

Mad about the art tucked behind the bird, to whom do we credit for that lovely? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks :)
