OK, spring is really here, and we just picked up some daffodils for a couple bucks over at Trader Joe's, but we can't afford to buy fresh flowers every week. While we're not fans of artificial flowers, we might allow these kid-friendly flat flowers to freshen up a room.

Also kid-friendly AND hypoallergenic:

For a small investment, you can buy large bags of bulbs in the fall for pretty cheap (espec at Costco or Sams). Plant bunches of them close together and in the spring you have your own flowers that you can cut and put in a vase. And it keeps on giving because they come back every spring!

whoa...regarding the infinifleures...$50 for a $2 IKEA vase, some plastic and some pipecleaners...that look like some girl scout badge project? people are insane!

goodLife- great idea for people with yards, but hard to do when you live in the city.

julia - if you have a nice sunny window or a balconey/porch in your apartment, that works fine as well. Bulbs do great in pots.

I was never a fan of fake flowers until I got cats. At one time we had four felines and abandoned real plants and flowers because the cats would find a way to get to them and chew them up, then get sick. At least with fake plants and flowers, the cats have learned they're gross to bite on and don't mess with them.
