that's really cute! i made my boys' birthday flags in a similar manner. "happy birthday linus, oliver, & miles" is a LOT of letters! it's a really long flag. almost too long. hee!

I also made one that says Happy Birthday. its all the same background with red letters. I also made one for my neice (4) and her little sister who is on the way. They are super cute and can be hung outside too! Its something I will keep forever.

yeah i make lots of happy birthday signs with felt lettters.we use one i made for my 15 month olds first birthday in the girls room (it says "happy")

Yes, great idea. I made a 'Baby!' banner for a friend's shower at work doing something similar. I used fusible interfacing type stuff to make the letters from pretty quilting weight fabric I had. I also used random bits of other fabric so that some is fleece I used was leftover from making hats for my nephews, some is flannel I had from making swaddling blankets for my son.
