Muffin Mat

Jill Goodridge found that with when her son was little, she carried around her yoga mat and a blanket so he would have something soft to lie on. She began to think about what would make a great baby mat and what she came up with is the Muffin Mat, an easy to carry, washable, mat.

It's a great spot for tummy time, and can be used later for toddlers to read on. The cover comes off for machine washing, and there's a shoulder strap so you can easily transport it.

We like the fact that it doesn't take up a lot of room but will give us some place to lay baby down without buying a large area rug. (We prefer our wood floors!) Choose from five colors right here.

The baby will outgrow that in about 10 seconds. But they'll get it terribly gross first.

I wish this was a poll.

Check one:

( ) YES, this is genius. I look forward to sporting this big hunk of WTF at my next new mommy meeting!

( ) NO, call me a traditionalist but I'm going to toughen my kid up by putting him on a blanket or gasp, the floor!

I had a muffin mat and it was AMAZING! My baby outgrew her's for floor play around 7 months old, but now I use it for her change spot (she's 18 months) and my bigger kids love to tumble around on it. The blanket cover easily comes off for washing.

I am a huge fan of this product.
We have hardwood everywhere in our house and it was a nightmare with my first child. I felt she was always crammed in a bouncy chair, or I was taking cushions off our couch to lie her on. We got the muffin mat as a gift for our second child and it has just been so great. I just feel like she's able to sprawl out and be in her own space. We honestly use it all the time. And it's my new favourite baby gift to give. Unique, helpful, and cool. They do online orders and she even mailed it for me with a gift card included.

We were not aware of this product. We used the bumby (or bumpee?) It was a C shaped pillow that you could use to keep your baby upright while you played with him/her.
